The number of UK search results relating to cruise rose 66% in August when compared to the last quarter.
The research, which was conducted by digital marketing agency Greenlight, found that 2.5 million searches were made on Google.co.uk for cruises in August. The May figure was 1.9 million.
Of the total 2.5 million searches, 12% (289,890) were specific to a destination and from that, the Caribbean accounted for 7% (19,200). The Mediterranean came in second with 17,500 searches (6%) and the Nile in third with 16,500.
The most visible site was iglucruises.com which attained a 45% share of visibility in organic listings through 419 keywords.
