Stuart Leven has been named managing director UK for Royal Caribbean International. Leven’s role will add Latin America, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean to this regions as well as Europe, Middle East and Africa. Leven had previously worked for IHG, GLH, Choice Hotels Europe and KLM. As part of the move, Dominic Paul has become vice president international at the cruise line.

 

Arno Delport has been promoted to head up sales and marketing for Acacia Africa in the UK, North America and Europe. Delport was a tour leader at the operator before moving to London in 2009 and joining the sales and marketing team. Other changes in the team include Chris Mears’ promotion from general manager to a board director, while Caroline Tinsley is now head of sales and marketing from Acacia’s Cape Town office.

 

Ken Freer has been appointed to the newly-created role of director of global marketing for Tourism Fiji. Freer has more than 15 years of experience in Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles and London. Most recently he served as Tourism New Zealand’s regional marketing communications manager in the UK.

 

Richard Bowen has become account manager, corporate sales at All Nippon Airways. Bowen will maintain and grow relationships with agencies such as BCD, AmEx and independents, as well as corporate clients such as Nissan and Credit Suisse. Bowen has 20 years’ business travel experience with previous roles at UniGlobe, AmEx, HRG and CWT.

 

Sue Burgess has been named senior director of operations EMEA at BCD Travel. Burgess will join the TMC after almost 20 years at Inntel and will take up her new role on 1 December. Burgess is also an ex chair of the HBAA.

 

Federico Ciampi has been appointed general manager at The Glasshouse, Edinburgh. Ciampi joined the hotel from The Academy, London and has also held roes at H10 London and Thistle Euston. The Glasshouse reopened under Marriott’s Autograph Collection in June.
