New courses to help the UK inbound tourism industry better serve Chinese tourists have been launched by Capela Training.

The company will be using WTM to showcase its new Chinese Tourism Training products which aim to help businesses understand and deal with the needs of Chinese tourists.

Capela is working with the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI) to develop the courses as the China outbound market grows. And with select travel agencies selling holidays to the UK and government rules in place, Capela’s managing director Gary Grieve said businesses need to be ready or face losing future recommendations.

“People are starting to take the influx of Chinese tourists more seriously and should be getting ready for when more visit the UK,” Grieve told Travel Daily. “There are more independent groups of Chinese tourists now coming to the UK and outside of London the hotels and businesses need to know the basic questions and have the understanding in place to deal with their enquiries. Businesses need to have the right reputation straight away as the Chinese travel industry works on recommendations and word gets around.”
