Goa plans major tourism projects

Goa has planned major infrastructure projects to boost tourism in the state.

Aguada Fort, Goa

Close to 20 infrastructure projects at an estimated cost of INR300 crore are under pipeline and are expected to be completed in the next one-and-half years. The projects will deal with beautification and upgradation of tourist amenities across the state.

Three major projects are in Panaji – the tourism jetty, tourism information plaza and multi-level car parking facility to the west of the old Mandovi bridge.

“We will attempt to see that all major projects are completed in the next one-and-a-half year. Though sometimes administrative and financial delays slow down the processing of files, I’m trying my best to push projects towards completion,” Nilesh Cabral, Chairman of GTDC was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
