The CLIA Learning Platform now has nearly 5,000 travel agents and will, this week, see the launch of an additional seven destination modules.
The new courses cover seven regions: Cruising Alaska, Cruising the Arctic and the Antarctic, Cruising the Atlantic Islands, Cruising the Indian Ocean, Cruising the Middle East, Cruising on the Nile and Transatlantic Cruising. The City & Guilds-accredited service aims to help agents extend their cruise knowledge in an interactive, engaging and informative way.
CLIA UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer said: “We have seen a rapid increase in the number of travel agents registering to use the Learning Academy. This rise is due to a number of reasons including our City & Guilds accreditation; we run the only travel agent programme currently to receive this recognition.”
Harmer continued: “CLIA-accredited agents also stand out to potential customers as being cruise experts, so providing an important competitive advantage. Destination remains the number one reason cited by consumers when considering a cruise holiday.”
