Qantas has unveiled a new loyalty programme for the small and medium enterprises (SME) market.

Launching in March 2014, the new Aquire scheme will be a standalone loyalty programme tailored to businesses which will be able to earn points via their everyday transactions, including travel. These Aquire Points can then be converted into Qantas Points in the name of an individual Qantas Frequent Flyer member.

This means that owners and employees can earn Aquire Points for a business, while still earning personal Qantas Points for themselves.
In addition, businesses will be able to earn Aquire Points through other partners across a range of sectors, including financial services, professional services, vehicle and office costs, and other business expenses.

Aquire Points can then be converted to Qantas Points and redeemed for a range of items, including gifts to employees, flights for owners and employees, flight upgrades and gifts from the Qantas Store.

Qantas said the concept is aimed at “driving more value and earning opportunities for Australian businesses”.

“Qantas recognises that small businesses are the backbone of the Australian economy and we have created a market-changing loyalty programme that rewards them,” said Qantas Loyalty CEO, Lesley Grant. “Aquire will provide SMEs with tangible benefits by turning everyday business expenses into an opportunity to earn points that can be redeemed for real rewards that benefit the bottom line.”
