On 2 November, the Costa Mediterranea dry-docked at Fincantieri shipyard for routine maintenance work, which will continue until 4 December.
The 2,680-guest ship will then depart from Savona on 6 December for a transatlantic cruise to Guadalupe.
Here, the ship will be deployed for winter 2013 /14, offering seven-night cruises to the Caribbean.
As part of the ongoing investments programme on quality and sustainability on its fleet, Costa Cruises is investing a total of more than €4 million on this maintenance work.
This type of service is performed every two and a half years on average, and involves cleaning and repainting the hull, engine work, and refurbishment of the accommodation including replacing of the carpet, curtains and upholstery.
