Firmdale Hotels has announced plans for an eighth London hotel.

Ham Yard Hotel is due to open in Soho on 1 June centralised around a pedestrian area linking Great Windmill Street and Denman Street.

It will open up the historic Ham Yard and Denman Place to the public for the first time since the 1960s, with a large sculpture by Tong Cragg to feature in the space.

Firmdale’s owners Tim and Kit Kemp have designed the hotel with an ‘urban village’ feel, with the hotel to have 90 bedrooms and 24 residential apartments.

Facilities include a gym, 176-seat theatre, a roof-top bar and original 1950s bowling alley imported from Texas.

Firmdale also owns The Soho Hotel, Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel, Haymarket Hotel, Dorset Square Hotel, Knightsbridge Hotel and Number Sixteen in London, as well as Crosby Street Hotel in New York.
