Manoj Gangal, airport director at Pune told the Times of India said, “The MAFI work, which is now nearing completing, will extend a major fillip to civilian flight operations. All the basic infrastructure work required to make the air field CAT-II compliant has been completed. This includes work for installation of CAT II level instrument landing system (ILS) and air field lighting system (AFLS).”

Post-installation, the ILS is scheduled to be commissioned in September.
