Fairmont will open its first luxury hotel in the Chinese city of Nanjing this week.

Located in the Hexi New Town area of the city, the 359-room Fairmont Nanjing will celebrate its grand opening on 16 April 2014.

The hotel is set on the upper floors of a 62-storey tower, offering views of Nanjing and the Yangtze River from all guest rooms. There are seven restaurants and bars, including a venue on the 60th floor that features 360⁰ views of the area, plus Fairmont’s Willow Stream Spa brand and 2,500m² function space, with a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,100 guests.

“Growing our leading hotel brands is a primary focus and we will continue to develop more hotels in major gateway cities and attractive resort locales throughout China.”

Fairmont Nanjing joins the group’s collection of hotels in China, which currently includes the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, Fairmont Beijing, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake. Three more Fairmonts are expected to open in China on the coming years, in Chengdu, Taiyuan and Hangzhou.
