The Kowloon Shangri-La hotel in Hong Kong has unveiled its first electric car charging station.
In partnership with Mercedes Benz, the luxury hotel now provides complimentary shuttle services for guests using electric cars, in addition to the hotel’s standard fleet of limousines and minibuses.
To charge these new electric vehicles, one of the car parking bays in the hotel driveway has been equipped with two 13-amp sockets that can charge two cars simultaneously. The complimentary charging service is also available to hotel guests.
“We are pleased to introduce this complimentary service not just for the convenience of electric car owners, but also helps increase environmental protection awareness, encourage the further development of required charging infrastructure, said Ulf Bremer, GM of the Kowloon Shangri-La.
“The electric car shuttle rides gives out zero emissions and thus improves roadside air quality and helps lower Hong Kong’s carbon footprint.”
The Kowloon Shangri-La is located on Hong Kong’s waterfront and features 688 rooms and six restaurants.
