Transaero Airlines has unveiled the interior layout of its new Airbus A380s, which will have the highest number of seats of any passenger aircraft in the world.
Expected to join the airline’s fleet in 2015, each of the airline’s four A380s will be able to accommodate 652 passengers in three classes. This will include 12 closed flat-bed suites in first class, in a 1-2-1 configuration, 24 flat-bed seats in business class, also in a 1-2-1 layout, and 616 economy class seats, configured in a 3-4-3 layout on the lower deck and in 2-4-2 on the upper deck.
All seats will come equipped with the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system.
“When developing the interior design of our A380s we strived to make full use of the advantages of this type of aircraft,” explained Olga Pleshakova, Transaero’s CEO.
“When creating the new configuration we referred to Transaero’s extensive positive experience of operating aircraft with 522-seat capacity. I am certain the first A380 aircraft in the Russian market will be very popular among our clients, both on domestic and on international routes.”
Transaero’s A380 will have more than 100 more seats than any other commercial aircraft operating in the skies today. At present, A380 configurations range from Korean Air’s 407-seat low-density layout, with an entire top deck dedicated to business class, to Air France’s 538-seat version, which includes almost 350 economy class seats.
Transaero’s A380s will operate on high-volume international routes to destinations potentially including Bangkok.
