Al Marwa Rayhaan in Makkah announced its plans to attract 20% more visitors in 2014. Makkah hosted 1,980,249 pilgrims for the 2013 Hajj, with almost 1.4 million coming from outside KSA. In 2012 more than three million pilgrims made the journey. The difference is a result of the US$21 bn restoration and expansion of the Grand Mosque.
“Last year’s Hajj season was very successful for Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana. Even with number of pilgrims still being limited, the hotel ran at over 90% occupancy in January, July and September,” said Mohamad Haj Hassan, area vice president of Rotana in KSA, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq and Afghanistan. “We hope to attract more guests in 2014 with an aim of increasing our occupancy by seven percent.”
Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana showcases more than 415 renovated deluxe rooms and suites with views of Masjid Al Haram and the Kaaba. Food and beverage ranges from traditional and international across its three signature restaurants: Al Bayt, Al Dayfa and Al Shorfa.
