Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has said it is considering new routes to Europe and America’s Pacific island destinations.

Following the easing of restrictions on Philippine carriers by US and European aviation authorities, CEB’s vice president of corporate affairs, Jorenz Tanada, said the low-cost carrier could now spread its wings further afield.

“With the recent lift of the EU ban and the FAA Category 1 upgrade for the Philippines, CEB is in a stronger position to explore the possibility of serving… travellers in new markets like Guam, Hawaii, and the EU,” Tanada said.

The airline is now equipped to do this, having recently started taking delivery of a new fleet of long-haul Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Late last year, CEB launched its first Middle Eastern services to Dubai.

Rival Philippine Airlines also recently returned to the Middle East, as well as launching flights to London.
