Air India has enhanced connectivity to the remote Andaman & Nicobar Islands, with the launch of a new service to the archipelago’s largest town, Port Blair.

The new flights will operate twice a week, direct from the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Services will depart the city known as Vizag every Monday and Thursday at 0915, arriving in Port Blair at 1210. The return flights will then take-off at 1250, arriving back in Vizag at 1550. Flights will continue onwards from Vizag to Delhi.

All flights will be operated using a 168-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.

The new service becomes Air India’s fourth route to Port Blair, following the existing services from Kolkata, Chennai and Bhubaneswar. The Bhubaneswar also connects to Delhi.
