MIKAEL SVENSSON has been appointed general manager of Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah. Svensson is well placed to oversee launch of the USD$ one billion property, the Group’s first venture into Dubai. He will oversee operations of Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
STUART G BIRKWOOD has been appointed general manager of Le Méridien Abu Dhabi Hotel. He brings with him over two decades of hospitality experience across Poland, Finland and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Previously, Stuart was in the position of General Manager at Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers.
CHEF DAVIDE CONCAS has been appointed chef de cuisine in Andiamo restaurant at Grand Hyatt Dubai. He brings with him over 12 years of culinary expertise. His forte is Ravioli and he plans to introduce some interesting ones to the menu soon.
SHAKEEL AL HAMID has been promoted to cluster general manager for Radisson Blu Hotel and Radisson Blu Royal Suite Hotel in Jeddah. In his role as cluster general manager, Al Hamid will be responsible for overall operations of both hotels.
JAAFER HAMADIN has been promoted to district training manager KSA. Hamadin will be responsible for administration of training and development standards for all Rezidor hotels within the country, including driving the Rezidor Hotel Group culture.
RAZA HASNAIN has been promoted to district revenue manager KSA. Hasnain will be responsible for managing the portfolio of the Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson Blu Hotel in KSA, including supervising daily practice of maximisation of rooms, meetings and events revenue.
IAN WALKE has been appointed senior sous chef at Park Regis Kris Kin Dubai. His main responsibility will be to assist executive chef in the overall kitchen operations particularly in Le Metro, Grandstand and Room Service.
KAMEL AJAMI has been appointed as vice president of operations for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Hilton Worldwide. He brings with him over 35 years of experience. In his current position as Hilton Worldwide’s country general manager for Jordan and Lebanon, Ajami boasts regional expertise overseeing properties in Levant, as well as upcoming opening of Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa.
JOSEPH FAYAD has been appointed corporate director of information technology at TI’ME Hotels Management. The new appointment is in lieu of the company’s moves to implement several major IT initiatives including cloud computing and virtual technology. He brings with him 15 years’ experience in the hospitality field.
OTHMAN ALEGHFELI has been promoted to area manager at Etihad Airways’ from his current position as assistant general manager in Abu Dhabi. In the new role, Othman will be responsible for overseeing the airline’s operations and driving growth in the GCC.
TIMOTHY JAY has been appointed food and beverage director at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha. In his new role, he will oversee all food and beverage operations at the group’s three Dubai Al Barsha properties including, Novotel and Aparthotel Adagio Premium and Ibis Dubai, Al Barsha.
JEROME KANDALAFT has been appointed general manager at Concorde Hotel Fujairah. He brings with him over 14 years of experience. He has worked for several leading hotel brands such as InterContinental Hotels; Hilton Hotels; Shangri-la Qaryat al Berri, Al Raha Beach Hotel and lately Gloria Hotels.
