Thirty-five independent travel agents from 19 agencies from Edinburgh and the surrounding region attended a recent workshop staged by BRIGHT (Bringing Real Information & Guaranteed High Quality Training) in Edinburgh, hosted by members from Viking River Cruises, Sunvil Holidays, Jersey Tourism/Premier Holidays, Cox & Kings, Silverseas Cruises, Hurtigruten, Attraction Worldwide, Explore, Prom Peru and Kirker Holidays.

Headline sponsor for the event was Prom Peru, hosted by Lucy Dinwiddie and the top prize was donated by Viking River Cruises which gave a day in Paris for two people on a river boat.

Said Hisham Mahmoud, chairman of Bright: “We had such a warm welcome from our colleagues in Edinburgh and achieved a 100% turn out. The enthusiasm and support from our guests in Edinburgh and Glasgow will give a great boost to sales from Scotland.”

“We were thrilled that Scottish agents showed incredibly generous support for our nominated charity for this year, ABTA LifeLine, which does excellent work for travel industry colleagues in crisis”, he added.   So far Bright has raised £1,000 from its six events to date.
