Australia’s Crown Group has unveiled details of its first hotel brand.

The Sydney-based real estate company has confirmed that its new Skye Hotel Suites concept will open in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta in early 2017. It will form part of the 29-storey V by Crown Group development, which is also known as Parramatta’s “vertical village”.

A new logo and website for Skye Hotel Suites have also been unveiled.

“We are pleased to announce the debut of Skye Hotel Suites in Sydney, the first of many around the world,” said Crown Group’s chief executive, Iwan Sunito. “Our vision is to create a collection of suites which will set a fresh lifestyle standard in Sydney.”

The 590-apartment V by Crown Group is located close to Parramatta Square, the new AU$2 billion (US$1.5bn), three-hectare development.

Featuring 72 studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, Skye Hotel Suites will have access to V by Crown Group’s resort-style pool, gym, conference room, restaurant, sauna, business centre and an outdoor dining and retail area. And a 26th floor sky bar (pictured top) will include a large open-air terrace and offer 270-degree views of the Sydney skyline.

“Parramatta is a powerhouse for innovation and business, attracting some of the best and brightest talent from across Australia and the world. With the phenomenal growth of Western Sydney the potential for the city is enormous,” Sunito said.

“Skye Hotel Suites will be a stylish addition to the up-and-coming Western Sydney, and we are confident the Crown Group brand, with its strong reputation, will appeal to the new generation of domestic and international visitors to the city.”

And Sunito added that Crown Group also plans to open more Skye Hotel Suites in Sydney in the near future, located in the CBD and Green Square areas. It intends to target the rising number of Asian visitors to Australia’s largest city.

“Asia is booming and with it more and more people travel to Australia for holidays and for business. This has created a gap in the market as the demand increases for luxury hotel-style serviced apartments in Sydney and Australia,” Sunito said. “Expanding into the transient short-term accommodation market will provide a strong foundation our continued expansion both locally and across the region. It is an exciting time for us.”

A launch event for the Skye Hotel Suites will be held later this year.
