Langham Hospitality has opened its eighth hotel in China and the 20th globally, The Langham, Haikou.
Set in the Guomao district in Hainan province, China, the property was designed by U.S.-based architects SRSS. The property is part of an integrated complex comprising of a hotel and commercial offices.
It is a 30-minute drive to Haikou Meilan International Airport and Railway Station. As the capital of Hainan Province, Haikou is enjoying rapid economic development and a growing tourism industry.
The hotel offers 249 rooms and suites over 14 floors. All feature specially commissioned art pieces, plush textiles and are styled with creams and gold. Each room is equipped with the Langham signature Blissful bed, motorized drapes and separate rain showers.
The Chairman Suite (356 square meters) features two bedrooms with unobstructed views of the South China Sea, with separate sitting, dining and cooking areas allow for private entertainment, as well as Jacuzzi in the main en-suite bathroom.

The Langham, Haikou’s all-day dining restaurant Atelier features an open kitchen, smoke house and oyster and champagne bar. T’ang Court offers Cantonese and Hainanese culinary dishes, plus a glass-enclosed wine cellar and private dining rooms provide the perfect venues for intimate gatherings.
Star Bar & Restaurant features an fresco dining setting with barbecue grill and open bar, while the Palm Court is the setting for the signature Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood and the lobby bar Liquary serves cocktails and cigars. There is a variety of multi-functional spaces, covering over 1,564 square meters including one grand ballroom and three multi-function rooms, ballroom foyer, VIP room and Bridal Suite. The group’s signature Chuan Spa offers therapies based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) using the five elemental forces of wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
The spa includes five private treatment rooms, steam room and jacuzzi, and foot massage room. Other recreational facilities include a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.
