Conferma, the Virtual Card Number (VCN) technology company, has announced the appointment of financial services industry expert, Darren Blair as director of sales in the APAC region.
Darren comes to the post with a resumé boasting senior managerial experience in the cards and payments divisions of both ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group), where he was senior product manager for commercial card payment solutions and MasterCard, where he was senior business development specialist for commercial payment solutions.
With business travel spending in Asia Pacific totalling $459 billion US in 2014, projected to grow at 7.7% CAGR over the next ten years, the Asia Pacific travel market is the largest in the world, making up 39% of the total global business travel market.
There are 163.64 million mobile payment users in the Asia Pacific region, so this is a region of payments technology literate consumers who are ready to embrace new and alternative payment methods such as Conferma’s TripPay™ mobile application.
