Ajman Museum recently celebrated its Silver Jubilee with several activities including participation in events organised by the environment and protective areas authority.

More than 3000 spectators attended the event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the opening of Ajman Museum which was highlighted with presentation of folk dances, live cooking of traditional food, competitions and free entry to the museum for residents and visitors to Ajman.

Opened on 20 May 1991 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, president of the UAE when he was on a visit to the Emirate of Ajman, the Ajman Museum has become one of the main attractions in the UAE. Formerly, the fortress of Ajman, it was converted into a fully-fledged museum by HH Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman.

The museum displays models of antiquities, traditional industries and artefacts as well as images portraying way of life in the past. The museum aims to introduce to visitors the nature of life in the UAE society for generations during the pre-oil phase and to introduce the heritage and the life style in the UAE before the emergence of oil.
