Nepal’s start-up Himalaya Airlines plans to launch a daily flight to Doha, its first ever destination in the Middle East this month.
The scheduled service will commence on 31 May and operate three times a week. Flights will depart Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2300, arriving at Doha’s Hamad International Airport at 0130 the next day.
The return flight will leave Doha on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0230, and get back into Kathmandu at 1015. The flights will be operated using an Airbus A320 jet.
Himalaya Airlines will become a third carrier operating the Kathmandu-Doha route, following Royal Nepal Airlines and Qatar Airways. The carrier is also looking to fly to Delhi in India, Lhasa, Chengdu and Beijing in China within a few months.
