Thai Vietjet is ready to launch first ever domestic flights following the arrival of its third aircraft.
The Thai low-cost carrier is planning to launch three new domestic routes in the coming weeks – Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Chiang Mai and Phuket-Chiang Rai – and it has now taken delivery of a third Airbus A320 aircraft to provide the necessary capacity.
As part of an agreement with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), one of the three aircraft will be painted with an ‘Amazing Thailand’ logo. All of Vietjet’s A320s come fitted with 180 economy class seats.
“Our commitment in developing tourism in Thailand has become a greater reality than ever today with this third aircraft joining our growing fleet,” said Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, vice president of Vietjet. “Our aircraft now are in good shape to further meet increasing travel demand of Thai people and international tourists in the Land of Smiles.”
Thai Vietjet already operates international routes from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and will also start flying to Haiphong next month.
