At the halfway stage…

At the halfway stage…

What a month June has turned out to be. Somehow we are only a week away from half of 2012 and already so much has happened in that time, with the past four weeks particularly manic. Perhaps like many of the British public I am excited for summer although the lack of decent weather is turning this excitement more towards my week away then barbecues in the garden. But then things could turn around, we’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile in the run-up to summer myself and the Travel Daily UK team have continued to get out to as many events as possible to make sure we provide the latest news, competitions and updates for you, as well as get to know you ourselves at our Thirsty Thursday events. It’s incredible that we will hold seven of these around the world within the space of two weeks, with the UK team here heading to Cardiff on Thursday.

Kissimme’s alligator joined us for its agent bowling event!

Aside from these I started last week with Club Med looking into the future of the all-inclusive market  and our contributor Simon Willmore will share his experience with the company after just returning from a fam trip. On Tuesday I went bowling with representatives from Kissimmee and was delighted to be on the winning team with my top score at 125! We were then joined by the team for Thirsty Thursday in London, after which I sneaked off to the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s ball at The Dorchester where we were in the company of Bruce Forsyth.

Looking at the two weeks ahead, the stateside onslaught continues with the USA Media and Ball events as well as sideline meet-ups from various tourist boards. I am also looking forward to Thirsty Thursday Cardiff this week and the ‘TravelBabble’ event with Fresh Egg, which will include speakers from Kuoni, Expedia and lowcostholidays on search and SEO. Invites have been coming through for summer barbecues which are always a treat, just hope the weather stays for them!

I hope you all have a great week and are also looking forward to your summer.
